What does this story help with?

  • understanding what happens when it is time to board
  • preparing for lining up, showing a boarding pass, and finding a seat
  • learning simple coping strategies during boarding
  • building confidence before take-off

Sometimes I feel nervous but also excited when it is time to board the plane

I can try to follow each step slowly, like lining up, showing my boarding pass and walking towards the plane.

I may have to take a bus that will take me to the plane

When I’m in the plan I can walk down the aisle and find my seat  number which is written on my boarding pass

I can store my bag safely and sit in my seat, fastening my seatbelt

I can wear comfortable clothes, use headphones if it gets too loud or a small comfort object to keep myself calm

If I'm worried, I can ask my parents or a flight attendant and they will help me
