What does this story help with?

  • understanding the steps of a train journey
  • reducing anxiety about travel
  • building confidence in unfamiliar settings
  • following travel safety and routine

When I travel on a train, I need to stay with an adult at all times to stay safe

At the ticket barriers, I wait for my turn and  when it is time to pass through the gate, I stay with my adult

Sometimes the station can be busy and the train can be full of people

I can try not to
stare at them

There might be loud announcements. I can cover my ears if it is too loud

The train can make a loud sound or stop suddenly. I can hold on to the rails to keep myself steady

It's OK!

If there are train changes or delays, I can try to stay calm and follow what my adult says

It won't take
long now
