  • using polite words like “excuse me” and "please"
  • asking for help in a calm voice
  • waiting patiently for an answer
  • understanding “no” or “not now”
  • building confidence in communication

Sometimes I need help with something in school or at home

I can't find my socks!

I can stand near the person and say,

Excuse me, can you
help me please?

I can use a soft and calm voice when I'm asking for help

I can remember to
say "please"

After I ask, I wait patiently for the answer

Not now. I'm busy

If they say “no” or “not now,” it does not mean they don’t like me

I can ask again later

I am learning to ask for help nicely.

You waited calmly.
That was great
