What does this story help with?

  • understanding common night-time sounds like clocks or cars

  • using simple coping tools like covering ears or white noise
  • building a calm and consistent bedtime routine
  • relaxing the body and preparing for sleep
  • developing confidence in falling asleep independently

When it's my bed time, I go to my bed every night

I can sleep with my teddy

Children need to sleep earlier than adults because our bodies need more sleep

Sometimes when I'm in bed, I hear sounds like a clock ticking or traffic outside or adults talking

These are safe sounds

If the sounds feel loud, I can cover my ears or count in fives

5...10...15...20...25...30...

I can also hug my pillow or my teddy and think of happy thoughts. This will relax me

When my body is relaxed I can sleep easily and wake up fresh in the morning

Good morning!
